Dutch Wonderland 08.28.10

Jason took Jaxin, Nana, and myself to Dutch Wonderland this weekend as a belated birthday present for his mom. She didn't want anything for her birthday in July, and instead just wanted to have a special day with Jaxin. He had went to bed around 11 the previous night, so he was very tired and quite grumpy most of the time while waiting in line. The park was a bit crowded and so we had to stand a while in lines at times. Jaxin's favorite ride was the Log Flume or "Bumpy Boat Ride" as he likes to call it. He got to ride it twice. He rode a few other rides, got to play in Duke's Lagoon for a short while, and we also watched one of the diving shows called "The Frog Prince". Jaxin loves those shows and even though he was grumpy & tired, he smiled a lot throughout their performance and clapped for them. We actually saw a family there, sitting right beside us at the show, whose children go to My Gym. Small world, eh? He really liked seeing the characters dressed up too. Duke the dragon was walking around and Jaxin actually went up and shook his hand and was excited to see him and told me, "Oh, Mommy, I love him!" That's surprising, because usually he's very timid around the characters. Jaxin told Jason later that day that he had a very fun day and that he wants to go back. I'm glad that both Jaxin and Nana had a good day.

My Gym Fun Days #8, 9 & 10

Jaxin finished up his last week of My Gym Fun Days this past Wednesday. Week #8 was sports themed and Jaxin wore his Phillies t-shirt and made a basketball on a paper plate with black & orange tissue paper. Week #9 was pirate themed and as you can tell from the pic, I dressed him up as the little scallywag that he is! hehe I hear the teachers all got a kick out of his outfit. Apparently, Jaxin was the only kid there that ever dressed according to the week's theme. Oh well, I thought it was fun to let him do that. :) For the pirate week he made a very colorful eyepatch with the letter "J" on it. Week #10 was circus themed and he made a clown face with purple hair out of a paper plate and construction paper. It had a little red puff ball for a nose.

Jaxin absolutely LOVES My Gym and all the teachers there. Thank you Wanita for getting the summer Fun Days package for him for his birthday. He had a lot of fun going! :)

Happy Birthday Daddy

P is for Pooping in the Potty!

That's right-Jaxin is finally pooping in the potty! Jason and I have been waiting for this day since the day Jaxin was born! haha We've been working with him on this for what seems like forever and nothing worked. Encouragement, bribes, toys, candy, swimming in the "big boy" pool, the beach...you name it; he didn't care. He was scared to poop on the potty for the longest time. We all said that once he was ready then he'd do it, and not a day sooner. And that's what happened. Finally, he was ready, and once he did it, he wants to do it all the time. He pooped on the potty for the first time on August 6th-the day before our trip to Indiana. He's been doing it every day since and we are all soooooo proud of him! We can't wait for him to want to pee on the potty every single time so he can wear underwear instead of pull-ups! Jaxin got this Scooby Doo Mansion toy the very first night he pooped on the potty and he loves it! Daddy bought it for him and Nana bought him some figures to go with it. He already had a couple that I had bought and then I ended up buying him some more while in Indiana. So he has tons of Scooby Doo characters and monster to go with it.

Trip to Indiana

Jaxin and I had a wonderful time while visiting family in Indiana this summer. It's always exciting for me to see my family because I miss them very much. We got to meet Stella for the first time too. She is 5 months old now and a cutie. Jaxin adored her and wanted to bring her home with us. He later told me that he wants a baby sister. Ummm, good luck on that one kiddo. haha Too bad your daddy doesn't want anymore babies because you'd make an awesome big brother. Anyway, Jaxin was thrilled to see all of my family and had fun playing with everyone. Piper and him got along in spurts. She still doesn't like sharing her toys and tends to bully Jaxin a lot which he isn't used to, so he'd end up crying and running to me every time. But he still loves her a lot and said he missed her when we left. We were half-way home and he told me he wanted to go back to Aunt Michelle's and got really upset when I told him we were going home. Awww. We also visited with Grandpa Isaacs and spent the day of his birthday with him. Jaxin's favorite place we went while staying with my sister was the family center w/ the pool that we went to. The kiddie section was amazing! We spent almost the whole day there playing. Jaxin also got to go in the "big pool" with me and had a lot of fun with that. He was allowed to go in because he'd been pooping in the potty all week. YAY! We also went to a place that had go carts but we didn't ride them because we thought we were going to another place that had them the next day, but ended up not going. Jaxin has expressed to me several times that he really really really wants to go ride go carts. Guess I'll have to google and find somewhere around here that has them. Can't wait to see my family again. I miss and love you guys!

Miller Park

Jaxin got a new bicycle with training wheels since he had outgrown his tricycle. It has dinosaurs on it. Jason and I took him to a park so he could ride it on the trails. The trails led to a wooden bridge which went through the woods. It was a very neat place. Jaxin really enjoys riding his bike and is quite good at it now. After his ride we let him swing for awhile. I really liked the swings. I hadn't seen any like them in a long time. These were the hard rectangle seats instead of the ones that bend to shape to your body.
