First Masterpiece

So after seeing pictures and the video of my neice finger painting, I thought I would attempt to let Jaxin do the same. I have to admit I had my doubts. Not about the mess or the cleanup....Only that I was skeptical that my son would even enjoy this project. He's just like his father in that he hates being dirty or messy. So as I laid this canvas before him with globs of lime green and blue paint, he just looked up at me as if to say, "What do you expect me to do with THIS?" He dipped his fingers in it and slowly smeared it around. Then smacked it with both hands....Looked at them and giggled. He slopped the paint around a few seconds longer then took a glance at his hands again then just started crying. Poor lil guy just can't stand to be messy. It was fun while it lasted. Maybe we'll try again in a couple weeks.

Across The Miles

Dear Piper,

The last time I saw you, you were far too small to play with. We just layed there and gazed at each other. Both of us trying to figure out, "Who is this other little person? And why are they stealing my attention?" Now we're both walking & running and we've developed very LOUD personalities. I wish we could play together every day and drive our mommies crazy with all the noise! I can't wait to see you again dear cousin. I miss you.

Jaxin's Great Aunt Susie (Jason's aunt) bought this huge bear for Jaxin. It towered over him when he was just an infant. Now he loves to wrestle with it or give it hugs and kisses.

Snip-Its!

Today we went to get Jaxin's hair cut. We go to Snip-Its which is a hair salon designed for children. He just loves it there. Even if we have to wait 20 min. he always finds something to occupy himself with. The image is mainly cartoony hair dryers, scissors, combs and such that dance around. They play videos and have tv's at every station. Afterwards he even gets a prize from the Magic Box. This was the third time he's been there. The first two times he got little containers of bubbles, but today he got a rubber duckie dressed as a police officer. The hair stylist did a wonderful job and his hair looks great! Which is amazing because he wasn't very cooperative today.
